In 2019 I made a bold career move from selling beer to being a software engineer. I got lucky, because not only do I love the work, but I love writing about it, talking about it, and encouraging others to make their own bold career changes.
I'm always happy to talk, partially because I'm passionate about tech and alternate career paths, and partially because I am a social extrovert.
I recently gave a talk at Donut.js about How to Support the Junior Dev on Your Team. It's a subject I feel pretty passionate about.
I did a talk on Why Not Having a CS Degree is Awesome for 300 Seconds.
I also did an interview on the Fire Drill Podcast about How I Transitioned My Career Into Tech With a Coding Bootcamp.
You can find most of my blog posts living at dev.to.
A travel solutions app for bringing people together in a common destination, inspired by my own personal struggle to plan trips with long distance friends and family. MeetMe allows you to find flight information for two different departure cities to a common destination city, while also displaying photos of where you are headed.
A mobile-first CRUD app where users give and receive feedback on what
should be worn to an occasion. Inspired by my nostalgia for getting
constant outfit feedback while living with friends in college.
Currently in production. Final version coming soon!
A clean and simple note taking app that is fully responsive. Allows
users to easily add notes and folders and keep their thoughts
Coming soon: server side with Node.js.
This project was inspired by my embarrassing knowledge of the Harry Potter franchise. I created an interactive quiz for fellow enthusiasts that allows the user to easily iterate through each question, ultimately getting their final score of correctly answered questions.
Check out my work and experience below, and feel free to reach out so we can chat more (maybe over a beer).
